This perfume is a true scent of history, commemorating, as it does, a visit in 1891 by Queen Victoria to the oldest French perfume maker in Grasse.
In more recent times, in the 1970's, John Bailey worked with an international fragrance supplier who took over this old French perfumery. Going through the factory archives John discovered sepia photographs recording the visit and the fragrance formulae for the gifts of perfume made for Her Majesty and her entourage.
The perfume was re-created and eventually presented in an antique perfume flacon to the Boots Company as an innovative concept. Boots launched it as an Original Perfume in a collection of nostalgically packaged toiletries but it was discontinued some years later.
In 1981, when John Bailey established his niche perfumery, he re-created this special fragrance, christening it, Victoria. An exquisite blend of jasmine and muguet, enriched with orange flower, cassia and rose giving a delightful freshness and simplicity.
Over the years, this has become a Perfumers Guild best seller.
